Andres Perez-Uribe is professor and coordinator of the Data Science research group at the School of Business and Engineering Vaud (HEIG-VD), University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO). His team collaborated with CIAT and King’s College London on the development of Terra-i, the first near-real time system to monitor deforestation in South America and currently collaborates with Alliance of Biodiversity and CIAT on the development of Coffee-Vision, a remote sensing tool for assessing zero-deforestation commitments in Vietnam.
