Ufuk Topcu is a professor in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at The University of Texas at Austin, where he holds the Judson S. Swearingen Regents Chair in Engineering #1. He is a core faculty member at the Oden Institute, Texas Robotics, and director of the Autonomous Systems Group. An IEEE Fellow, he earned his PhD from UC Berkeley in 2008 and previously served at the University of Pennsylvania. His research advances the design and verification of autonomous systems, integrating formal methods, reinforcement learning, and control theory. He leads major Air Force, NASA, and NSF projects and has received NSF, Air Force, IEEE, and Oden Institute honors.
