Lennert is a mathematician turned AI researcher in pursuit of his longstanding passion of modelling intelligence. He believes the next wave in AI will combine the success of learning neural representations and probability theory with some sort of reasoning on some sort of meaningful representation. What kind of reasoning and representation is still an open question and is the main topic of his research; how can we learn to reason at scale under uncertainty? Lennert focused on logical representations and learning during his PhD and is now continuing his neurosymbolic research as a postdoc at the DTAI research group of the KU Leuven under the supervision of Luc De Raedt.
