Fans of the competition will be pleased to hear that the AI Song Contest will return for another year. The initiative was founded with the aim of showcasing the creative potential of human–AI co-creativity in the songwriting process. The competition is open for anyone to enter, either as an individual or a team. The contest will culminate in a live award show in November, this year to be held in Amsterdam, where the winners will be crowned.

Last year, the winning song was Onda Corta, written by the duo Bernarda Castillo and Andrés Mondaca. The pair are composers and hosts of La Coda Podcast, a show about music and creative processes. You can watch them perform the song live at last year’s award show below:

How to enter

The link to submit work will open in July, but teams have until August to send their entry (exact dates to be confirmed). You can find out more here. If you are after some inspiration, you can listen to previous entries to the competition here.
